Recruiting of young academics
Cooperation with Budapest Polytechnic
December 2006
Lufthansa Technik Budapest plans to promote the training of young Hungarian engineers in
cooperation with Budapest Polytechnic.
This is one of the results which arose from a mid-
November congress held in the Hungarian Capital and attended by senior Hungarian Government,
university and business representatives.
These included
the State Secretary
for Higher
Education and
Science and
Hungarian Minister
of Education
and Culture Prof.
Károly Manherz
as well as the
Rector of Budapest
Polytechnic
Imre J. Rudas.
Lufthansa Technik
was represented by the
Head of human resources marketing
and talent management
Hans-Hellmuth Retzlaff-
Schroeder and Marek Wernicke,
CEO of Lufthansa Technik
Budapest (left to right).
Marek Wernicke said: "We
want to continue to grow, so
we need more engineers in
the future. We need an early
contact with young academics
through Budapest Polytechnic
to offer them practical
experience and the opportunity
to prepare their diploma
thesis. In addition, we also
need a lot of qualified mechanics.
We took advantage
of this meeting to discuss
ideas for industrial training with
Government representatives."
